WORLD AIDS DAY (Why)
Started on 1st December 1988, World AIDS Day is about increasing awareness, fighting prejudice and improving education. The World AIDS Day theme for 2009 is ‘Universal Access and Human Rights’. World AIDS Day is important in reminding people that HIV has not gone away, and that there is still a long way to go.
From its inception until 2004, UNAIDS spearheaded the World AIDS Day campaign, choosing annual themes in consultation with other global health organizations. In 2005 this responsibility was turned over to World AIDS Campaign (WAC), who chose Stop AIDS: Keep the Promise as the main theme for World AIDS Day observances through 2010, with more specific sub-taglines chosen annually. The global theme for 2009 and 2010 is “Universal Access and Human Rights”. This theme is not specific to World AIDS Day, but is used year-round in WAC’s efforts to highlight HIV/AIDS awareness within the context of other major global events including the G8 Summit. World AIDS Campaign also conducts “in-country” campaigns throughout the world, like the Student Stop AIDS Campaign, an infection-awareness campaign targeting young people throughout the UK.
World AIDS Day provides an opportunity for all of us – individuals, communities and political leaders to take action and ensure that human rights are protected and global targets for HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment and care are met.
세계에이즈의 날. 왜?
1988년 12월 1일을 시작으로 세계에이즈의 날은 에이즈 경각심 개도, 에이즈에 대한 편견 퇴치, 개도 교육을 위한 날이 되었습니다. 2009년 세계에이즈의 날 테마는 ‘세계적인 접근과 인권-Universal Access and Human Rights’입니다. 세계에이즈의 날은 사람들에게 HIV가 아직 완전히 퇴치되지 않았으며 계속 싸워나가야할 병임을 상기 시키는 중요한 날입니다.
처음시작한 시점부터 2004년까지 UNAIDS는 세계에이즈의 날 캠페인의 선두에 서 국제 건강보건 기구들과 논의하여 매년 세계에이즈의 날을 위한 새로운 테마를 정했습니다. 그리하여 ‘에이즈 예방과 사후관리 장려-Stop AIDS: Keep the Promise’ 라는 주제하에 2005년 World AIDS Campaign(WAC)가 시작되게 되었으며 매년 세부화된 부제하에 2010년까지 행사를 진행해오고 있습니다. 2009년과 2010년의 국제 테마는
“세계적인 접근과 인권 -Universal Access and Human Rights”입니다. 이 테마는 세계에이즈 날만이 아니라 WAC를 통해 년중 활용되며 WAC는 G8정상회담 등 중요 국제 이벤트들과 정황을 함께하는HIV/AIDS문제에 대한 경각심을 일깨우기위해 힘쓰고 있습니다. WAC는 전세계에 걸쳐Student Stop AIDS Campaign등-영국내의 젊은이들에게 감염에 대한 경각심을 일깨워주는 캠페인- 자국내에서의 캠페인도 실시하고 있습니다.
세계에이즈의 날은 우리모두에게 기회를 제공합니다.- 개인, 단체, 정치가 모두가 실제적인 행동 으로 인권보호 그리고 국제적HIV/AIDS 예방, 치료및 사후관리를 이룰 수 있도록 돕습니다.
RUBBER SEOUL (What)
5th December 2009
The evening of 5th December will be the chief fundraising element of the day in conjunction with four entertainment venues and a selection of Korean and foreign bands, MC’s and DJ’s who are altruistically providing their services. Last year an estimated 1000 people attended the Rubber Seoul Concert.
There will be a cover charge of 10,000KRW that includes entrance into all four venues. In return, each entrant will receive a Little Traveler pin, made by the women at the Hillcrest AIDS Centre.
The evening will see a variety of acts by various bands. Collectively the evening entertainment is called ‘RUBBER SEOUL’ – a name that invokes thoughts of quality music and ideas, as well as a much needed reminder to use condoms. Leaflets and brochures about HIV/AIDS; as well as condoms will be distributed at the venues in an effort to create awareness about HIV/AIDS.

12월 5일저녁에 기금모금에 중요한 이벤트가 될 것입니다. 홍대의 4개 클럽과 협력하여 한인/외국인 밴드, MC그리고 DJ들이 자발적, 이타적으로 이벤트를 진행합니다. 작년에는 약 1,000여명가량의 방문자가 Rubber Seoul Concert를 찾았습니다.
4개 클럽을 입장할 수 있는 티켓은 10,000원이며, 첫 클럽입장시 Hillcrest AIDS 센터의 여성분들이 만든 리틀트래블러스 핀을 받게 됩니다.
다양한 밴드들의 다양한 공연이 있을 예정이며 이 날 저녁의 모든 공연을 통털어 RUBBER SEOUL이라 합니다. –좋은 공연과 기발한 아이디어, 그리고 콘돔 사용을 떠올리게 되는 이름이죠. HIV/AIDS에 관한 경각심을 일깨우기 위한 전단지와 브로셔들이 콘돔과 함께 공연장에서 배포될 예정입니다.
